Memorandum of Understanding between INFN and University of Texas Southwestern Medical centre for a new hadrontherapy center in Dallas

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical centre - UTSW will be a pioneer in hadrontherapy in the USA with its new planned hadrontherapy center. In order to lay a basis for a collaboration in research and training activities in hadrontherapy, an MoU has been signed on November 3rd during the International Symposium on Ion Therapy (ISIT) held in Milan, between Fernando Ferroni, president of INFN, and Hak Choy, Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at UTSW. This collaboration will leverage on the expertise of INFN in hadrontherapy, developed across the last decade at Laboratori Nazionali del Sud in Catania, the Fondazione CNAO in Pavia and the new protontherapy center in Trento, where TIFPA plays a key role.
